bowled over

Remember that awesome tutorial Kirsty gave us a couple of weeks ago? She and I emailed back and forth, tossing around other ideas on ways to get the same look on different scales. One thing led to another and we came up with an idea...

Yep, a bowling ball! I got this one at the thrift store for $3.

I used a 50 cent thrift store pillar candle holder (that I cannot find my pics of) and Mr. SCC cut me a round of wood. I painted them all out in Krylon Dover white.

Then I glued them all together.

And voila! It looks like one of those concrete ones, yeah?

Not only do I have a spare bowling ball from a previous owner of our house laying around, but I also have that same wicker case sitting next to yours. Good use of an old bowling ball. I have been thinking about spray painting my wicker case white.

I re-make bowling balls all the time, I've done ladybugs, covered them with pennies, little rocks, plastic bugs, and made fountains out of them...if this works you'll be able to see a picture of my little ladybug. love the posts! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uX_fOx15AKs
