Pretty Cheep

Have you seen these?

I found them at Dollar Tree a few days ago and they were just too precious to resist. A buck? What luck!

I dressed them up with a little light aqua paint, rubbing it off before it was all dry.
If you're a birdie fan, you might wanna check out your local store. There are three different poses, one facing right, one facing left and a third facing forward (but the right and left are the prettiest, to me.)

{Pardon the pun... I just couldn't help myself}

Yeah I bought a lot of these last year around summer time. I painted some robins egg blue and also white. Then sold them at my booth in October for $5.00 for a pair. They sold in the first 10 minutes. I then went back and sold all the remaining ones - 35 of them. They are so cute. The only problem is when you paint them you also end up painting the glass inside them. But no one minded.

I love these little birds. I bought some a few months ago and wish I would have bought more for gifts. Maybe I should go back and see if there's more now. Thanks for the reminder.

Yes, I found some of these in the late summer. I couldn't get the glass out- it was thoroughly glued in place (these are 'cheapies' made to last!!) I was thinking of painting mine too- I guess i will have to paint right over the glass. They sure are cute, eh?

Oh I LOVE birds, and these would be so cute painted white! I will definitely see if my Dollar Tree has these! Thanks for sharing this!

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas! :)

I bought some of these too. And I painted them. I slid painters tape down around the glass as best as I could so it wouldn't get on the glass. I painted some of them black, barn red, and cream. On some of the others, I covered them in mod podge and dipped them in glitter. They were fabulous. I painted those shabby pink and shabby blue and put opaque glitter of them.

On the ones I painted, I glued a clear rhinestone on the eyes. Added a bit of something extra, and it was cute.

I sold all of mine in my craft booth for $14 a set, and sold every one of them.

By the way, do you know you can order bulk quantities from them (Dollar Tree)online now?

I have one of those. They are super cute. My daughter bought one and painted hers black. (Hers was more of a rusty color) I love thrifty decorating like that!

I picked up several of these in the fall...I painted a couple heirloom white and rubbed some off. Aren't they awesome?

So many great projects this year. I need to get a 'year in review' post up, but for this week I just linked my 'exercise in interior design' post from today. Hope that's ok!

My Dollar Tree had them a couple of months ago. They went fast. I was able to pick up 4 of them. I left them as is for fall decor. I'll probably paint them for spring.

I really love birds and I think that your bird candles are so sweet. They are amazing when they are lit up. Also they are really good if you have a power cut. If you do you won't have to worry about buying candles. Because you have already got some.
