Welcome once again to Transformation Thursday. It's the one day a week we celebrate getting things done! Everyone is welcome to join in by joining at the bottom of the post.
This week I'm sharing how I cheat at making my buddy The Nester's Ragamuffin Garland. After I did my first one and tied for hours, I figured out how to cheat. I love BIG, FLUFFY garland. I really need to try her much slimmer version, but I like 'em big -- so here's my secret:
First, I use strips about 12 inches long. This makes it fluffier. It makes it like Ragamuffin on steriods. But you want to know how to save time, right?
Take your long ribbon that you will tie everything (Nester girl calls this her "base ribbon") to (I used the edge of a sheet that I ripped down). Then take a longer strip and lay it underneath.
Gather up a handful of your scrappy strips
Put them on top of the base ribbon
Then using the longer ribbon on bottom, tie the bunch to the base ribbon.
If you have kiddos gathering bunches for you, it can be all tied up in about 30 minutes, much faster than the piece by piece tie method.
Mine took 3 full size flat sheets (which took about an hour to rip apart). I added in two spools of ribbon, all bought at the thrift store for about $5. And... just so ya know, Mr. SCC was a HUGE help -- not only did he rip sheets with me, he cooked supper so I could get it done. Isn't he the greatest?
Now it's your turn! Just jump in with whatever project ya got by entering your PERMALINK into MckLinky. Pretty, pretty PLEASE with sugar on top link back here so everyone can find the great projects!
