Update and dining room reveal

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your prayers, thoughts, and warm wishes for my mother in law. She is doing better but is still in the hospital. She's out of ICU and in a regular room and should be coming home in a couple of days. It's been a crazy week, much different than I thought it would be. Instead of laying on the beach, we were surrounded by family pulling together for a time of need. Sometimes God gives us what we need instead of what we want. It's been hectic, but I've spent more time with my MIL in the last few days than I have in several months. I couldn't imagine life without her, because I love her nearly as much as I do my own mother. OK -- drying eyes, on to fun stuff!

I promised you a dining room, so a dining room you will get! I didn't get my newly finished chairs in the pic, but the new-to-me table, courtesy of my mom. It fits the space so well and is perfect for the four of us. I topped it with a $2 thrift store Ralph Lauren sheet, ripped to fit the table. See the crown? Mr. SCC spent hours drawing, cutting and sanding me the perfect crown. You're going to see a lot of crowns coming up soon, he's determined to give his "queen" (his words, not mine), all the crowns she needs. You'll be amazed by what he's come up with.

Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend, there's a big surprise in store this week, it's gonna be a good one!

Your dining room is so pretty!
I would like to change out my square table for a round one. I think it would work much better in my tiny space.
Love the slim side table, too. I saw the previous post about its construction and finish...Great job!

Your dining room is very pretty. I was interested when you wrote that your "cottage" is a mobile home. It is great what you've done with it. I love to see "real" homes transformed. You really can make any place a beautiful home if you have the desire! Good job!

I do love that crown in the dining room. I am a sucker for black/white checkerboard floors too! I've always included them in my home makeovers because they are so "classy", don't you agree?

I am so loving that swing!! Your hubby will be busy making those FOR SURE!

Have a great week. I can't wait to see the surprise!!
