Welcome to another edition of Transformation Thursday. It's the one day a week we all get together to celebrate getting things done. We're working on our 5 tasks a week, but even if you're not working on the challenge, you're welcome to join in. Just hook up in MckLinky below. As for my five tasks -- I couldn't find that silly photograph, so I couldn't frame it. I went looking for sticks and didn't find any I liked. Ugh. But I did complete two out of five. I'm cheating this week, by posting a tutorial from earlier in the summer.
First, I ripped down some scrap 1x12 down to 3 inches wide. If you are using a rip saw, be sure to use a scrap piece to push the edge through, so you keep all your fingers.
Nail the side pieces into the legs - you could also use screws, but nails are easier on such small pieces. Use three nails on each leg, offsetting each of them to give it more strength. Once you have the side pieces together, then nail on the front and back, making sure that they are in front of the side edges. Then, put the top on, nailing it in each of the corners. I painted mine, then used an antiquing glaze and sanded it on the edges for the perfect shabby look.
Make sure you check out the giveaway for my 200th post before you run off!

Oh, and did you see the Christmas Carnival announcement?

Wow, you are brave using a rip saw. I can do basic power tools, and have used Hubby's miter saw before but... I'm very impressed with the ripping. :) The table looks great!

Now way, that only cost you 30 minutes! It would take me at least a day (taking that picture with the hammer balancing on that long nail would be an hour already).
