I love the catalogs, the stores,
the style of it all.
I hate the prices.
A $1 thrifted wooden bowl with oranges
can be just as beautiful as a
$50 wooden bowl with oranges.
And, I have the satisfaction
of knowing that it didn't cost
as much as the cable bill.
Are you inspired by a
certain store's style?
Which one?
And do you recreate
things you see? Share it!

20 sweet little love notes:
I just found your blog and love it:) I am also a major fan of Pottery Barn. But I like to mix a little Anthropologie in there. My blog is all about decorating and fashioning yourself with little to no cost! http://designa-peele.blogspot.com/
I love Pottery Barn but not the prices as well. My mom used to give pictures of stuff from there to my dad and he could just recreate them, a bed or bookshelf etc. Now I have my hubby to do it for me.
I love Pottery Barn (along with SO many other stores!). Their prices on some things can be okay, and then not so much on others. Like you, I like that much of their look can be replicated on any budget.

I love Pottery Barn as well...I used to be an avid subscriber to "Cottage Living" the mag. also, but it is no longer in publication. I have replicated many ideas from them!
Oh my, yes, I have lived a life of making and raking in things for fashion or decoration. It's not only fun, it is very cost effective. Why give the big companies my money when I can make something similiar and feel good about it and say, "I made that myself."
Great post. Keep up the good work.
I keep coming back to my first love, Ralph Lauren. I love the mix - it's the preppy Texan in me, I need something leather and some antlers in my living room, next to a super sleek lamp, in order to feel complete. He does it for me.
The prices at their outlets are pretty high also. Sometimes will find something reasonable, but it is usually something I don't want or need. Have not been in a while - may need to make a trip in the near future. :)
I am inspired by many, many blogs!!
I'm a PB fan too and I usually shop their "clearance rack".. Yes! I'm inspired by Ballard Designs and I already did a post on it last week. :) Thanks for asking!
Pottery Barn is the magazine of choice on my sofa, as well as one of the most frequent sites I visit. I LOVE taking their ideas, then trying to recreate it myself. They are super expensive. right now, I am loving their round jute rug, and I saw a similar one at Overstock for way less.. might be springing for that soon!
I just got 2 packages of apples at AC Moore (craft shop) for $1 each! I put them in my Mom's 50 year old wooden bowl! Priceless!

Oh I LOVEEEE Pottery Barn. However, I don't own anything PB unless it was second hand or on deep clearance at the store. I got these adorable Octopi (it's octopi if it's plural, right? haha) for the boys' room for I think 2 dollars a piece.. not too shabby.
Anyway, I love pottery barn. Are there places that sell knock offs for cheaper?
Yes, I love Pottery Barn. But I usually limit my browsing to blogs and get inspiration that way. I like to recreate things that I see. Your blog is one of my faves. I enjoy all that you create and how you decorate!

Don't you just love the pottery barn? My blog post that I'm doing tomorrow is about them. Thanks for the comment on the new blog banner. Hope you are doing well.
I love the things that Pottery Barn uses as their props! All the things that I sell at the flea. You bet that a $1 bowl is just as good as what they sell!
I, too, am an avid admirer of Pottery Barn. I love to get the look. My husband calls my decorating style potterybarnesque.
Love Pottery Barn, but I hate when I see the poor ladies show the sales associate a page from the catalog and say, "I want to order everything on this page"! Yes, I've seen it happen. Come on people - you can do it yourself for an eighth of the price - just hire me :)
Yes, I agree that you can make your home look wonderful and inviting without spending ALL that money!!! :)
But I do LOVE Pottery Barn too. And Pier 1 as well, they both inspire me.
Love your blog...Have a great day!!!
Yep, I too love PB, but not the prices. Lots of ideas come from crafty bloggers like you!
Thanks for sharing!!
Missy
Totally PB. Some Ballard, too.
