Fall is in the air and it's slowly creeping into the cottage, bit by bit. Small changes give a harvest feel to everyday displays and new creations pop up here and there.
Even small tweaks to current spaces evoke that autumn glow. Another cream ceramic pumpkin replaces net floats and starfish that I reserve for summer. Burlap scraps fill in like autumn Easter grass to lend their harvest feel.What is your cheap fall decorating trick?

I don't know if I have a cheap fall trick. I always "think" about doing various things. But what I do experience is sort of like the biological clock ticking, but instead is my fall-cleaning clock ticking, where instead of the words screaming in my psyche "birth me, birth me", I hear, "clean me, clean me." This step toward fall-getting everything clean and in order- helps me transition into winter when I must stay in the house more.

Love the vignette. YOur gourds and pumpkins do look so nice. I just painted some to look like ceramic and they turned out great. I've put them in an arrangement for my MM post today. I so agree, good decor doesn't have to be expensive. Hugs, Marty

Our weather is still really, really hot around here (we are actually going to the beach in a little while) so our pumpkins will need to wait a little longer to come out!

I found a set of fall theme candle sticks at a thrift store for $3! Those along with 25 cent green candles (same store) and some fall leaves from my yard make a very pretty table decoration.

I love your fall colors...I did the same thing this weekend. I am so monochromatic in my decorating that I just couldn't do orange pumpkins this year. So I just painted them beige and tied a brown ribbon on them. I LOVE them now. Thanks for sharing.

I usually don't do much fall decorating, but this year I'm very much into it. I know fall starts this Tuesday, but it's still 100 degrees here so that kinda takes the wind out of my fall colored sails...lol. Girls, I must admit, I didn't use spray paint on those pumpkins. It's been raining for days and so I used a brush and painted them with regular acrylic paints. It took a couple of coats, but they look softer than spray paint and I didn't have to wait for the rains to go away to get it done.

Most if not all of my fall decor came from the Dollar Tree or Dollar General. It doesn't have to be expensive to be beautiful! Right? Your fall decor looks fabulous!!

I love cream, my kids used to call me Mrs. Beige, I think it's great that you just changed out a few things and made it work for fall!
That was lovely. My cheapest trick is color. I start by pulling out candles in shades of orange and gold and put them in the candle holders around the house. From there, it is changing the covers on the summer pillows to decorative Fall ones.

My cheap trick is to box things carefully to save them from year to year! This is the 25th fall since I got married. . . and I still have the very first pumpkin I got as a gift 25 years ago! We've moved nine times, but I always pack things away carefully so that I can use things over and over. Each year I add a little something. It's fun to re-visit the memories as I get out the decorations each year.
