For a couple of weeks, Mr. SCC & I have talked about going to Atlanta. We planned on going this weekend, until we realized our anniversary is merely a month away. By happenstance, it falls the same weekend as Scott's Antique Market next month. Mmmm... don't ya love a good coincidence? So, yep, we're waiting until next month to celebrate with a little weekend trip.
Instead, we rambled around a very off-handed way towards Huntsville, via Fayetteville for a stop at Sirs Fabrics. I found nothing there, so we decided to go the long, windy way towards Alabama, in search of other treasures. Even though we walked through dozens of stores, I only bought a few things.
Although I have my heart set on finding a dough bowl next month, this round wooden bowl for $1 was a great find this week. I love the worn bits about it.
This Lenox plate was a mere 50 cents. I've been searching for interesting plates to hang on the wall ever since I found a dozen plate hangers for a quarter each a couple of weeks ago. This will go into the "wall" collection.
We also stopped by the Dollar Tree, where I found a couple of these mugs. Aren't they adorable? And for a buck each? Yay!
I also found this basket for $2 at my favorite thrift store. It was painted all black, but I shabbied-it-up with some white paint and a little sand paper. It's easy to grab the linen towels out of it from either side of the kitchen.
Posted at Today's Thrifty Treasures & Metamorphosis Monday.
Make sure to be here Wednesday for the Feathered Friends Party!
Maybe I can dig up something good for an exciting surprise...

How fun to spend your anniversary in Atlanta...and Scotts to boot!
I love your island. The color is scrumptious!
"I am way too indecisive to write directly on the canisters themselves." That is so me! I see these great jars and want to paint a word on them, but always get stymied. What if I want to move it? I can't have it say rice if I want to move it to the bathroom next week!
I love that wooden bowl. My parents have a similar one on their coffee table filled with tiny shelves. It always catches my eye.
Oh I love all your finds!!!
Love Love Love that island!
Good job on the island! Your weekend was way more productive than mine. When you come to ATL, you should visit the Fabric & Fringe warehouse in Marietta GA, lots of areas with great antique shops - Decatur & Avondale, Chamblee, Buckhead.

Sure like your island. You did get some nice bargains.
WOW...$1 for the wooden bowl is a fab price. I usually buy every wooden bowl I find and I've not bought 1 for under $10 in years now!
Wow-great deals. I love the chalkboard tags on the canisters.
