Of daughters and dishes

Rambling around on Saturday is sort of a tradition in our home. Unless we have company coming over, we can literally spend an entire day just roaming around looking for treasures. This weekend was no surprise, but we did have a new friendly face join us, Lala's boyfriend came along to spend the day with us.

We began at one of my favorite Goodwills in Spring Hill. It was a great trip, where I found the first of a handful of napkins that kept crossing my path all day. A matching set of six linen napkins was only $2.99.

Later that day I found a few more at the Habitat Home Restore for another $2. Total for the dozen napkins was only about $5.

The Habitat Building Restore had a great sale on quarts of paint. We dug around for about an hour finding all the tan and brown shades that we needed to paint the outside of our home. I bought $9 worth of tans and bright whites and saved about $200 on a project that was in our plans for the near future. Mix all the tans in one bucket and all the whites in another. Now I have my wall color and trim color for pennies on the dollar. This is why I always stop in there when I'm in Nashville.
Ya just never know what you'll find a good deal on.

Another good deal of the day. It's missing a piece here and there, but at 22 cents per piece, I'm not complaining. I've been collecting mismatched pieces, but I love the price and pattern -- double score!

This pretty pillow was found for $2 on our last shopping stop of the day. She looks beautiful on my couch, matching all my existing colors seamlessly.

Another last minute find was this vase for 99 cents.
I'm gonna fill it with these:

Isn't this a perfect find for this week? Only $6.50 for the whole box. Ya'll know some of these will pop up on Wednesday for the Beach Party right here at The Cottage. You're coming, right? I'll have the post up Tuesday night so everyone can link up early if they'd like.

The "B" on your napkin is my last name initial. Everything you got is beautiful. I especially like the napkins. I've got so many seashells from picking up along the beaches here, I hardly know what to do with them but, how is one supposed to resist picking a pretty shell up? The Beach Party sounds like fun, I hope to come.

The "B" on the linen napkins were made for me...BETH! I would love to find some like that. Would you consider selling them to me? I'll give ya back your $2.99!

That is an awesome deal on paint. I think we have a Habitat Re-Store in Chattanooga. I'll have to find out for sure and give them a visit...looks like you can save a lot of money on buying what you need in there.

Don't you just love this cooler weather?! Have a nice week.

Hi Gina! You do find the best stuff! I would love to have Saturdays to visit every garage sale in town...seldom happens though. I think the antique stores get there first, then I go to the antique stores when I have time, and pay quadruple! Love the vase and the shells...perfect!
