Turn it around

This week I am challenging myself to keep on my home redecoration path, but to not spend a dime on decorating. I'm looking around to see what I can find in my home that I might like but not truly love, and turn it into something I adore.

This mirror was a yard sale find from a few years back. It graced our bathroom in our old house, so it had quite a lot of water damage to the finish from years of kiddos splashing about while brushing teeth & washing faces. Today it finally got a facelift. .

Another old yard sale find perched upon the top of my current bathroom mirror, but didn't really go there. Today the two pieces met with a little paint & burnt sienna to make them pop.

After turning the mirror around the other direction, it makes a much better statement for the corner beside our couch.

Join in with me this week to remake things we like into things we love.
Come back for show and tell on Transformation Thursday.

I like your approach to redoing what you have without spending anymore money right now. We can all make something from what we already own with our creativity and you showed that with flare!!!

Love the idea of "shopping in your own home" and then remaking the goodies to be fabulous!

What a great idea. I love it. Very clever to look at things with a fresh eye and imagine them as something else. That also takes a lot of talent. Great job. Hugs, Marty

This looks great!

You're inspiring me! I have an old piano that I bought years ago when my son was taking piano lessons. Sadly, he doesn't take them anymore. But the ugly piano is still here. I have been thinking about painting it for the longest time. This may be the week! I also have a ratty old wing-back chair that I have big plans for.

Thanks, as always, for the inspiration!

Re-design or Shopping ones own closets and rooms often times helps us to cherish our own treasures just a bit more when we can repurpose them.

You did a very nice job.

What a great transformation.
I only had 2 posts to the give away when I added some info and so I am letting you know about the additions. (Sorry I was posting after midnight last night and forgot a couple of things) I just added twitter so if you follow me and add a post about it you can get 2 more entries each week. I am also asking people to not just post the button on the side but post a note about it so your followers don't miss it.

That's a great goal to set. One I often live by. And of course, it makes the hubby happy. I've recently got hooked on polyvore.com AGAIN! and this time instead of outfits, I've been doing rooms. My husband told me I could spend all the time on the computer I wanted to, because that meant less time I would be doing something to the house, lol. MEN. Pffftt!!!

Great idea! I am in the same boat right now. I want to "re-do" my den without spending any money. I know I'll have to buy some paint, but then I hope to do some re-arranging to make things look better. I look forward to seeing your ideas.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and becoming a follower. I have entered your name in all four of my "Christmas in July" giveaways for the rest of the month. Stop by on Wednesday for another chance!
Blessings to you,
